Mushroom House
About This Spot
Stepping into Mushroom House feels like entering a whimsical retreat nestled deep in the forested heart of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The restaurant’s distinctive, mushroom-shaped exterior gently invites you to slow down and take in something unexpected—a quiet harmony between nature’s charm and heartfelt Ukrainian tradition. Inside, the air hums with a warm, unhurried rhythm, where rustic wood and soft lighting craft a cozy sanctuary, perfect for both lingering conversations and moments of peaceful solitude.
The pace here is unforced, a thoughtful counterbalance to the nearby bustle of Bukovel’s resort energy. Mushroom House offers a refuge where time seems to soften, letting you wrap yourself in familiar comforts and subtle pleasures. The atmosphere is quietly joyful, infused with the sense that every detail—from the earthy decor to the careful presentation of dishes—has been chosen to celebrate local heritage without fuss or pretense.
Food arrives as a natural extension of this feeling. Imagine savoring traditional Ukrainian flavors, each bite echoing with honest, robust notes of forest and hearth. Whether it’s the rich, slow-cooked warmth of chanakhi with tender mutton or the gentle sweetness folding through varenyky filled with fresh cherries, the menu speaks to a deep-rooted love of ingredients and seasons. Alongside savory bites like deruny draped in mushroom sauce, delicate options like mushroom soup or handmade dumplings reveal a reverence for the land’s wild gifts.
While the mushroom-inspired design draws you in, it’s the heartfelt service and attentive pace that make visits here memorable. The staff’s welcoming presence encourages you to settle in as part of a local story—one marked by quiet discovery rather than hurried dining. This balance of spirited atmosphere and gentle hospitality invites guests to return, not just for a meal, but for a moment of true connection to the culture and landscape around Polyanytsya.

Hey there, in this review I would like to tell you about my experience with a pretty exclusive restaurant in the center of the Ukrainian resort Bukovel. First w I want to mention the exterior, the restaurant looks so attractive, unusual, and unique. It looks like a big big mushroom. When you enter the restaurant, you immediately feel that Ukrainian cozy vibe, the interior looks so attractive . The first person who meets you is a smiling and welcoming manager who will be happy to help you get to your table. While you are going to the table you are listening to Ukrainian folk music and enjoying that authentic interior. After you get to your table the magic starts... Waiters are so knowledgeable, they will tell you everything about each item on the menu, and can also tell some interesting stories about specific dishes. Also, you can find various dishes on the menu, which consists mostly of Ukrainian traditional cuisine. The prices are reasonable and affordable, so everyone has a chance to try it. While you are waiting for your main course, you definitely get a compliment from the chef. This is a mushroom appetiser in the form of mushrooms, which is served with slices of black toasted bread. I was absolutely amazed when I saw and tasted it for the first time. Also, I always order borsch with some sides, it is a traditional Ukrainian soup with vegetables and meat, so I totally recommend trying it, the dishes taste delicious and look satisfying, so the chef and cooks know what they do.

Everything we ate was amazing and great service. We went for a second time on our 4 day stay

To start, the food was great - its pricey vs other options nearby but we can understand why, presentation and quality was excellent. The service was not great the day we visited. We had to put down a deposit for the lunch, which is fine, however this wasn’t possible online and they called us 4 times to remind us. Then the lady at the door couldn’t find our reservation and was being difficult. when we arrived at the table they wanted the deposit cash.. eventually they let us have lunch there. So - conclusion, food and interior design is great, but they killed the vibe a bit.

This is hands down the coolest place we've dined at in Bukovel. The atmosphere is simply amazing– it's both exhilarating and incredibly relaxing. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here. I opted for the spicy sausage with baked eggs, and we decided to share the Banderitas. My wife went for an omelette with prosciutto. I kicked off the meal with a unique mushroom shot, which was both intriguing and flavorful. Despite our awesome waiter's recommendations, I'm thrilled I chose the mushroom shot for my first time. The service was exceptional, the food was amazing, and the vibe was precisely what we were hoping for. I believe the prices are very reasonable given the quality and taste of the food. Highly recommend this place, and we're definitely planning to return for dinner.

A great restaurant to visit while in bukovel, one of the only worthwhile ones in my opinion. Cool atmosphere, loved the decor, the service is great and the staff are very helpful which I can’t say for most other restaurants in bukovel. Really, we were very pleasantly surprised with the service here - we were seated quickly, our server was friendly and we got our food within 15 minutes of ordering. As for the food itself, I cannot say that the borscht or banosh were outstanding, just okay, however the parenyky with cherries were amazing and definitely worth all the social media hype. We also thoroughly enjoyed their moonshine tasting tray. Definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere and ambience.

I don’t have enough words to describe how amazing this place is! From the stunning atmosphere to the perfectly prepared traditional dishes, everything exceeded my expectations. The flavors were authentic, the service was outstanding, and the prices were very affordable. A truly unforgettable dining experience…..I highly recommend it!

Irina(restaurant), Maria(hotel reception) & Oxsana(housekeeping) all made this the most enjoyable of places to eat and stay, the food is so tasty, the staff are all great! The building was so nicely built and decorated, there are no straight walls anywhere, it’s unique & externally it reminded me of a work of art from Gaudi! There’s a cheeky and playful design to this. Inside the restaurant I’d say was designed and decorated in a rustic Ukrainian style and the hotel bedrooms are all unique and you’ll have everything you need in the room, the room had a genuine sleigh converted into a bed with a really comfortable mattress, a round window(incorporating a patio door to the balcony) which looked like something from a hobbits house!
